How the math works
To remove VAT from a price that already includes it, divide by 1 + rate. A $120 total at 20% VAT means the pre-tax price is $120 / 1.20 = $100, and the VAT itself is $20.
To add VAT to a net price, multiply by the rate and add it back. $100 at 20% VAT becomes $100 + ($100 × 0.20) = $120.
Rates vary by country and sometimes by category (many countries apply a reduced rate to food or books). The presets above cover common standard rates as a starting point; always confirm the exact rate for your situation with your local tax authority.
Senzo reads the VAT off every receipt automatically and builds your VAT report for you.
